Props to our Women's Program Staff for an amazing Mid-Winter Program!

Here is a recap from one of our recent students sending us her personal reflection on the 3 week winter session she attended at Mayanot. Etana, Thanks for letting us share!

I just wanted to thank you for the amazing experience I had at Mayanot these past three weeks. I wish it was longer! Every morning I would wake up excited to attend class and learn. I don't think I've ever been so willing and enthusiastic to wake up at.... for a class before. In particular, Chassidus class always left me with inspiration and clarity. I found the lessons to be relatable and applicable to my own life.

Coming to Mayanot, My goal was to become more proficient in Chumash, Mishnah, Halachah, etc. Thanks to the incredible teachers at Mayanot, my goals were not only met, but exceeded. I was hesitant to try Yeshiva 1 because of my limited Hebrew. Despite my limited knowledge of Hebrew, the teachers were patient and were willing to work with me.

Not only did Mayanot help me improve my text based skills, but it also inspired me to bring what I learned back to my university. The main lesson I'm taking with me from Mayanot is that G-dliness has the potential to be found everywhere. It's my job to include it in all of my daily activities. Before Mayanot, I separated my "Jewish life" from my "school/ social life." However, these aren't meant to be separated in two separate categories. Rather, as a Jew, it's my job to combine the two and make Hashem feel comfortable in this world. I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spread Judaism in a college atmosphere that may lack Judaism at times.

Although I miss Mayanot already, I'm leaving with a greater knowledge of Judaism, life long friends,  inspiration, and purpose. Who knew just three weeks could be so impactful and meaningful? I can't thank you enough! I wish you much success and I hope to see you soon!

All the best,
Etana Matatia
