"I was saddened to hear about the passing of my dear friend of over 35 years, David Goldberg from Skokie IL.
David was a deep and caring person. He was always learning, questioning and discussing. He loved learning Torah and had a keen interest in philosphy. At the same time, David was exceptionally friendly, warm and caring, who loved his family, friends and community. There was nothing superficial about David, he was a real chosid, who was always striving to grow spiritually and serve G-d with integrity.
His poetry that he started to write in recent years eloquently expressed the inner spiritual fire of his soul. I will miss David. He is a shining example and a source of blessings for his family, friends and all of Am Yisrael."
As seen on Rabbi Shlomo Gestetner, Dean of the Mayanot Institute's, LinkedIn profile yesterday.
------------
When Rabbi Shlomo Gestetner was a shliach in Skokie, Illinois in 1991, David Goldberg and he were learning partners and have kept in touch for over 30 years. David loved Mayanot and was a great supporter of quality Jewish education and outreach.
MAY HIS MEMORY BE FOR A BLESSING AND MAY HIS FAMILY BE COMFORTED WITH THE MOURNERS OF ZION.
