Mayanot Taglit-Birthright Alumni's recent event in NYC featured rapper Ari Lesser

Mayanot Taglit-Birthright Alumni continued its run of recent events in NYC with a wonderful evening at The Brownstone in Downtown Manhattan. The alumni in attendance, as well as their staff and friends, were entertained by the highly talented rapper and spoken word artist, Ari Lesser.

Lesser, famous for recent hit songs in conjunction with Chanukah, Purim and pro-Israel material, mixed in Pre-Pesach lyrics about the 10 plagues and a catchy new number entitled 'Dance Like Miriam At The Red Sea'. The crowd eagerly clapped along and kept the requests coming until late in the night.

Those hearing Lesser for the first time were instant fans. Evan Warren, who went on Mayanot Taglit-Birthright this past summer, commented, "This guy was so cool, I loved his style and learned a lot from the verses. I bought a few CD's, so I might have to move over Mattisyahu on my playlist." With an open wine bar, sushi and dinner buffet the crowd filled up their bodies on the food and their souls on Lesser's heartfelt and inspiring songs.

Rabbi Dov Oliver, Director of Mayanot Taglit-Birthright Alumni was very happy with the event. "Ari is super talented, our alumni were really impressed and enjoyed the material. The stunning setting here at the Brownstone and the great spread also really enhanced the event."

Mayanot Taglit-Birthright alumni activities in New York and across America are thriving! As the Director of Mayanot Taglit-Birthright Alumni, Rabbi Dov Oliver has been proactively reaching out to alumni by planning and managing activities that facilitate lasting relationships among Birthright participants.
